Graduate Student Kristina Smiley Wins 1st Place in 3 Minute Thesis Competition

Psychology graduate student Kristina Smiley wins 1st place in 3-minute thesis competition!

Kristina Smiley takes home $1,500 and 1st place in the university wide 3-minute thesis competition! Her presentation was titled “Prolactin: It’s not just for lactation!” Her presentation will be entered into the 3MT Northeast regional competition for a chance move onto the national level competition!

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a competition for research master’s and doctoral students to develop and showcase their research communication skills. Competitors must effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. They are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props.

The 3MT was developed by The University of Queensland (UQ) and is held in over 200 universities worldwide
