Dr. Aubrey Kelly, a postdoctoral research fellow in the Psychology Department, is the recipient of the 2016 International Women’s Day Leadership Award for community engagement. Aubrey was honored for being an advocate for women in science and creating Cornell’s Tea Time, a public group for graduate and professionals that serves as a platform to support and empower women in STEM fields. Tea Time has monthly meetings that address topics such as being a mother in academia, maintaining work-life balance, and being on the job market. Tea Time also hosts mini-workshops to develop networking skills, improve professional interpersonal relations, promote self-confidence, and learn how to effectively brand yourself as a scientist.
